ENO Take Part in Tree Planting with Ricoh and The Woodland Trust

ENO were invited by our Office Supplies Business Partners Ricoh to take part in a tree planting with The Woodland Trust at the Heartwood Forest in Hertfordshire on 23rd November. Kathie Bishop our Sustainability Officer went along and was joined by many from the printing industry and Julia Bradbury. We’d been invited in recognition of our contribution to minimising our carbon footprint through our paper stock choices as a business, and is an activity that we plan to get more involved in in the future.
Kathie told us about her experience:
‘The site of the new forest is composed of glacial deposits, making the ground very stony. It hadn’t been dug before, which made the planting quite tough going. However, with about 100 volunteers we managed to plant close to 3000 sessile oak, pedunculated oak, hornbeam and cherry saplings. The saplings were planted in their dormant state, which means they will start to grow in the spring. This maximises their chance of survival into ‘adulthood’. Many thanks to Ricoh and Premier Paper Group for inviting and hosting us!’
