ENO to perform at Henley Festival 2018
1st February 2018 in News
We are delighted to have been welcomed by the Henley Festival to perform in their 2018 Festival, on Sunday 15 July at 8.30pm on the Floating Stage.
Since 1983 the Henley Festival has been a perfect setting for music ranging from classical to jazz and from pop to world music, and so we are very excited to be part of the 2018 programme alongside artists such as Rita Ora, Grace Jones, Nile Rodgers & Chic and more.
With soloists and our full Orchestra and Chorus under the baton of our Music Director, Martyn Brabbins, the repertoire for the performance is taken from many of the world’s best-known operas, including Carmen, The Marriage of Figaro, Madam Butterfly, Turandot and La traviata. The evening will be hosted by ENO’s master of the topical adaptation, Richard Suart, who will also top the evening off with ‘I’ve got a little list’ from Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Mikado adjusted specially for the occasion.
