Highlights in the 2023-24 season include her house debuts at Teatro Real Madrid as Eva in a new Meistersinger with Laurent Pelly, the title role of Thea Musgrave’s Mary, Queen of Scots in a new production at Oper Leipzig, besides her Staatsoper Vienna debut as Medea.

Nicole Chevalier performed Violetta with Jérémie Rhorer at Musikfest Bremen; Violetta directed by Benedikt von Peter and Agathe in Christoph Marthaler’s new staging of Weber’s Freischütz at Theater Basel; Leonore in Fidelio (1806) under the direction of Christoph Waltz and Thaïs with Peter Konwitschny at Theater an der Wien; the title roles of Offenbach‘s La Belle Hélène, Handel’s Semele, Aribert Reimann’s Medea at Komische Oper Berlin; the Four Female Leads in Krzysztof Warlikowski’s staging of Les Contes d’Hoffmann at La Monnaie Brussels as well as Greek National Opera Athens, roles she also sings in Barrie Kosky’s production in Berlin, for which she received the Theatre Award “Der Faust” as Best Performing Artist in Germany.

Nicole Chevalier’s production at Staatsoper Hamburg in Schönberg’s Pierrot Lunaire with Kent Negano was recorded in 2020 for the Berlin Biennale. Her interpretations of Thaïs and Leonore are available on dvd. In 2023 Deutsche Grammophon/Universal released Mozart’s “Alcandro, io confesso” recorded with the Freiburger Barockorchester.

Further highlights in the vocal-symphonic field include Hans Abrahamsen’s orchestrated song cycle Let me tell you with Titus Engel as well as Michael Schönwandt for Staatsorchester Hannover, Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra Ljubljana, Janacek Orchestra Brno; and Henryk Górecki’s Symphony of Sorrowful Songs at London’s Coliseum.
