Tess Jackson
Conductor
Tess Jackson is Associate Conductor of the National Youth Orchestra. She studied music at Cambridge University, latterly undertaking the Masters in Conducting at the Royal Academy of Music with Sian Edwards. The Marriage of Figaro is her ENO debut.
Career Highlights
Recent highlights include conducting Kander’s Cabaret (Volksoper Wien, where she was Musical Assistant in the 2023/24 Season) and debuts at the Royal Festival Hall and Liverpool Philharmonic Hall with the National Youth Orchestra.
In August 2024, she took to the stage of the Royal Albert Hall with the orchestra for her BBC Proms debut. Her acclaimed jump-in for Smetana’s The Bartered Bride at Garsington Opera led to the invitation to make her symphonic debut with the Philharmonia Orchestra next season.
Other forthcoming highlights include: a special project at the Berliner Philharmonie; a festive programme with the London Mozart Players; West Side Story (Volksoper Wien); assisting Enrique Mazzola on Fidelio (Lyric Opera Chicago).
