ENO wins at Olivier Awards

The 2017 Olivier Awards took place this evening (9 April) at the Royal Albert Hall. ENO were delighted to have been nominated for six awards across four different categories.
Akhnaten, directed by Phelim McDermott and with Anthony Roth Costanzo in the title role, won the award for Best New Opera Production.
Lulu, directed by William Kentridge and starring Brenda Rae, was also nominated in this category, alongside the Royal Opera House’s Cosi Fan Tutte and 4.48 Psychosis at Lyric, Hammersmith.
Mark Wigglesworth won the Outstanding Achievement in Opera award for his conducting of Don Giovanni and Lulu with ENO earlier this season. Stuart Skelton and Renee Fleming were also nominated in this category.
