Alcina Mendes

Alcina Mendes began her career in Lisbon at the Chapitô School of Performing Arts (2002–5) and then moved to Madrid to specialise in circus at the school Carampa. She then spent three years in Spain where she consolidated her experience as a circus performer.

Career Highlights
In 2008, she joined the school of physical theatre, Lispa, in London where she trained in theatre-making. Following this she created a solo comedy trapeze act, Maria the Cleaner, and a physical theatre show Tie Between with the company Systole Teatro. She has also performed and collaborated with companies such as Citrus Arts, Dreamthinkspeak, Upswing, King Bert Productions in Ruby Robinson, a silent movie created for Sky Arts, and for Fresh Strawberry as a presenter for Google Digital Skills African.
She is an Associate Performer of Mimbre and has co-devised and performed in their shows Bench, If I Could I Would and Wondrous Strange.
