Louise Jeffreys

Louise stepped down as Artistic Director at the Barbican Theatre in 2020. She was responsible for the Barbican’s artistic programme and strategic vision. She led the development of the Barbican’s work with the communities of east London, widening audience engagement; and also increased income by developing a variety of commercial partnerships. Earlier roles in her career included Administrative Director at Nottingham Playhouse, Head of Production at Bayerisches Staatsoper, Munich, and Technical Director at English National Opera.

Besides being Deputy Chair, Louise is Chair of the ENO Artistic Committee alongside being a Consultant and Coach working in the cultural sector.
