Conductor
Antony Hermus was recently appointed Principal Guest Conductor of Opera North, and continues as Principal Guest Conductor of the North Netherlands Orchestra and Artistic Advisor of the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands.

Career Highlights
Operatic engagements include: appearances in Stuttgart, Strasbourg, Gothenburg, Komische Oper Berlin, Opéra de Paris studio, Essen and the Nederlandse Reisopera. He was Music Director in Dessau (2009–13), where he conducted his first Ring Cycle. This season he conducts Rusalka (Opéra national du Rhin), the ENO production of Rusalka in Luxembourg, and Le nozze di Figaro (Opera North), having made his debut at ON last season with Tosca. In concert, he has appeared with all the major orchestras in his native Holland, as well as with orchestras such as the Philharmonia, RPO, Danish National, Helsinki Philharmonic, Swedish Radio and Melbourne Symphony. Symphonic highlights of 2019/20 include Rachmaninov (BBC Philharmonic), Wagner’s Ring: A Symphonic Adventure (BBCSSO); appearances in the Amsterdam Concertgebouw with the Rotterdam Philharmonic, Netherlands Radio Philharmonic and Netherlands Philharmonic (the latter in the Concertgebouw’s Mahlerfest). Recordings include a much-praised CD of Diepenbrock tone poems with the Bamberg Symphony (CPO).
