Catherine Wyn-Rogers
Mezzo-soprano
Catherine Wyn-Rogers studied at the Royal College of Music.
Amongst her many roles, she has sung Erda and Waltraute in Valencia and Florence with Mehta, appeared at the Lyric Opera of Chicago as Sosostris The Midsummer Marriage, and made her debut with the Metropolitan Opera as Adelaide Arabella. Catherine has also performed for the Salzburg, Verbier, Aldeburgh and Enescu festivals, as well as at the Teatro alla Scala Milan, Scottish Opera, Welsh National Opera, Opera North, Semper Oper Dresden, Teatro Real Madrid, Netherlands Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Opera de Paris and Glyndebourne Festival Opera.
Recent and upcoming projects include Auntie Peter Grimes for Opéra de Paris, the Royal Opera House and for Teatro Real Madrid, Widow Zimmerlein Die Schweigsame Frau with the Bayerische Staatsoper, Haydn’s Theresienmesse with the Handel & Haydn Society in Boston and Messiah with Harry Christophers for The Sixteen. After this, Catherine will return to the English National Opera.
