British Bass Edwin Kaye’s current and future engagements include Ceprano/cover Sparafucile Rigoletto English National Opera, 2. Soldat/5. Jude Salome Opera di Roma, Angelotti Tosca Opera Holland Park, Surin Pique Dame Grange Festival Opera, Flemish DeputyDon Carlo Grand Théâtre de Genève, cover Colline La bohème Welsh National Opera, and cover Commendatore Don Giovanni Scottish Opera.

Career Highlights

Edwin acquired extensive on-stage experience as a soloist with State Opera Stara Zagora and State Opera Ruse in Bulgaria where he performed roles such as Colline La Bohème, Il Re Aida, Angelotti Tosca and Banco Macbeth. He sang Padre Guardiano La Forza del Destino, Zaccaria Nabucco, Fafner Ring Cycle and James in the world premiere of David Hackbridge Johnson’s Madeleine Regents Opera.

Concert work includes Stainer’s Mary Magdalene, Verdi’s Requiem and Handel’s Messiah. Through consort and choral singing, Edwin has held positions with the BBC Daily Service Singers, Christian IV Vocal Ensemble, and the London Philharmonia Chorus.

Edwin studied with Gwion Thomas in Birmingham before attending the Royal Northern College of Music, studying with David Lowe and Roger Hamilton. He now works with Matthew Best. He is a winner of the 2021 Fulham Opera Robert Presley Verdi Prize
