Karen Ní Bhroin
Assistant Conductor
Karen Ní Bhroin is one of Ireland’s leading young conductors, gaining international acclaim for her dynamic work across the UK, Europe and the US.
She has worked with renowned orchestras including the LSO, BBC Concert Orchestra, and the RPO. This season, in addition to assisting on ENO’s The Elixir of Love, she conducts the BBC Concert Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall, presented by Sandi Toksvig.
She is an award recipient of the prestigious Taki Alsop Fellowship for 2024, following two years of mentorship under conductor Marin Alsop. Over the summer, she made her debut at Bregenz Festival, conducting the premiere of Éna Brennan’s Hold Your Breath, directed by David Pountney, as well as a second premiere in the festival’s music and poetry series.
A graduate of Trinity College Dublin and Kent State University, her passion for education shines through her podcast and conducting courses. She continues to influence the future of music as both a performer and educator.
