Marcus Farnsworth

Marcus Farnsworth studied at Chetham’s School of Music, Manchester University and RAM, and was awarded first prize in the 2009 Wigmore Hall International Song Competition.
Previously for ENO: Strephon Iolanthe, Guglielmo Così fan tutte, English Clerk Death in Venice, Novice’s friend Billy Budd.
Career Highlights
Notable engagements elsewhere: appearances with BBC Symphony Orchestra (Adams The Wound Dresser); a staged Messiah (English Concert); Gabrieli Consort tour (King Arthur); debut with Teatro Real, Madrid (Street Scene). UK recitals include 2018 Aldeburgh Festival, Eddy Greek (Boston Lyric Opera); Demetrius A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Aix-en-Provence Festival tour and with Bergen Opera); Lance Corporal Lewis In Parenthesis (WNO); concerts with BBC Symphony Orchestra, Bergen Philharmonic, and the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group (at 2017 BBC Proms), and recitals at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, La Monnaie, Brussels, and the Wigmore Hall.
