Marjorie Owens is a former member of the Sächsische Staatsoper, Dresden, and a Grand Finals Winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, and is receiving a great deal of acclaim as one today’s most exciting young dramatic sopranos.
Career Highlights
Notable engagements elsewhere: debut at the Metropolitan Opera in the title role in Aida; a return to the Teatro Massimo di Palermo as Dorotka in Weinberger’s Svanda; a reprisal of her success as Freihild Guntram (Washington Concert Opera); performances with the New York City Ballet in their Morgen programme; a series of orchestrated Strauss songs; and a number of leading roles at her home company in Dresden – the title role in Strauss’s Daphne, Senta, Amelia Grimaldi Simon Boccanegra and Elisabetta Don Carlo.
