Melanie Lane is an award-winning Australian choreographer and performer.

Career Highlights

Based in Berlin during 2000–14, Melanie has performed internationally, presenting her independent works in festivals and venues such as Tanz im August (Berlin), Moma PS1 (New York), O Espaco do Tempo (Portugal), Festival Antigel (Geneva), Sydney Opera House and HAU Hebbel am Ufer Berlin.

She has been artist in residence at Dock 11 Berlin, Tanzwerkstatt Berlin and Schauspielhaus Leipzig. She has collaborated with UK music producer Clark on multiple productions and choreographed his 2014 and 2017 live shows, touring worldwide.

In Australia, she was appointed 2015 resident director at Lucy Guerin Inc. and has created new works for Chunky Move and Sydney Dance Company.

In 2017/18, she was nominated for ‘Outstanding Female Dancer’ by the Helpmann and Green Room Awards and was the recipient of the 2017 Leipziger Bewegungskunstpreis in Germany and the 2018 Keir Choreographic Award in Australia. This is her ENO debut.
