Natalie Murray Beale has built a distinguished reputation in leading opera houses, on the concert platform and in the film industry.
Her opera engagements include conducting for the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Theater Bonn, the Croatian National Theatre, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Le Grand Theâtre Luxembourg and New Zealand Opera, with her 2024/25 season featuring The Pirates of Penzance for ENO and Carmen for Opera Australia.
Natalie has conducted prestigious ensembles such as the London Symphony Orchestra, Beethoven Orchester Bonn, Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Malta Philharmonic, Britten Sinfonia, BBC Concert Orchestra, Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa, Presidential Orchestra of Turkey, Auckland Philharmonia, and the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra.
A passionate advocate of new music, she has conducted world and stage premieres by leading composers of today: John Adams, Missy Mazzoli, Anna Meredith, Jessie Montgomery, Joby Talbot and Anna Thorvaldsdóttir.
The British-Australian conductor trained at the Guildhall, National Opera Studio and with Maestro Jorma Panula. Mentored by Esa-Pekka Salonen, she was a BBC Performing Arts Fund Fellow and an alumna of the The Dallas Opera Hart Institute. She held positions as Assistant Conductor to Salonen and Ingo Metzmacher at Opéra national de Paris and the Festival Aix-en-Provence.
Her conducting for film and games includes the BAFTA-nominated soundtrack Alien:Isolation.
Feature film credits include Tár (6 Academy Awards nominations), The History of Sound and The Choral.
