Nozuko Teto
Soprano
Nozuko Teto is the 2016 International Opera Awards nominee and bursary recipient. She has a BMus in Music Education and a post-graduate diploma in Opera Performance, and was awarded a scholarship from the Nicolai Ghiaurov Foundation to study with the legendary soprano Mirella Freni at CUBEC Accademia di belcanto, Modena, 2011–14.

Career Highlights
Nozuko made her professional debut in 2011 in the title role of Suor Angelica (Cape Town Opera), and during 2011/12 sang in various concerts at the Teatro Comunale L. Pavarotti, Modena with the Puccini Festival Orchestra, and in Amsterdam Concertgebouw with the Rotterdam Symphony Orchestra. In 2015/16 she won the role of Mimì La bohème at the ‘Toti Dal Monte’ Competition in Treviso, and later toured Italy receiving great reviews.
Other roles include: Contessa D’Almaviva Le nozze di Figaro, Suor Angelica, Clara, Mimì, Palmyra with Wexford Festival Opera, and Isis at the Stuttgart Oper, to mention a few. In South Africa she is closely involved in youth empowerment programmes and performs in concerts in South Africa and neighbouring countries. This is her ENO debut.
