PJ Harris

Director

PJ graduated with a first-class degree in music and performance from the University of Leeds, where he held a scholarship supported by Opera North. He was awarded a BBC Performing Arts Bursary to train as a director at Scottish Opera. In 2015, he was listed as one of ‘32 ones to watch’ by the BBC and has since worked on productions at the Royal Opera House, Glyndebourne, Opera North, WNO, Opéra de Lyon, Den Norske Opera, Den Jyske Opera, Garsington Opera and Polish National Opera.

Career Highlights

Notable engagements elsewhere: Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610 (Garsington Opera); the European stage premiere of Madeleine Dring’s Cupboard Love alongside a new production of Vaughan Williams’s Riders to the Sea (Byre Opera); Salome (Opera North, concert staging); Eugene Onegin (Rhosygilwen); The Cunning Little Vixen (Byre Opera); La Voix humaine (The Forge).

He has also worked with ENO’s Artistic Director Annilese Miskimmon as Associate Director on Billy Budd (Polish National Opera, Warsaw) and Jenůfa (Kungliga Operan, Stockholm).
