Ross Ramgobin was nominated for a What’s On Stage Breakthrough Award and in the Young Artist Category at the International Opera Awards, Ross Ramgobin read English and Modern Drama Studies at Brunel University before attending the Royal Academy of Music and National Opera Studio.

 

Career Highlights

He made his Royal Opera debut as Miteb Cities of Salt, returning as First Mate Billy Budd and Rambashi The Firework Maker’s Daughter. He sang Pallante Agrippina and Arasse Siroe, re di Persia at the Göttingen Festival: both performances are available on CD.

Elsewhere, engagements have included Gaveston Lessons in Love and Violence (St Petersburg), The Protector Written On Skin (Radio France, Wiener Konzerthaus), Moralès Carmen (WNO), Demetrius A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Israeli Opera), Owen Wingrave (Aldeburgh and Edinburgh Festivals), Belcore L’elisir d’amore (Verbier Festival), Pallante Agrippina (Brisbane Baroque), Kuligin Katya Kabanova and Christian Un ballo in maschera (Opera Holland Park), Masetto Don Giovanni (Angers Nantes Opera), Figaro Le nozze di Figaro and Grosvenor Patience (ETO), Schaunard (Dorset Opera Festival), The Counsel Trial by Jury (BBC Proms) and Yuri The Ice Break (Birmingham Opera Company).
