Sarah Connolly
Mezzo-soprano
Sarah Connolly trained at the RCM. She works regularly with many of the world’s great orchestras and conductors such as Chailly, Andrew Davis, Elder, Gardner, Haitink, Harding, Herreweghe, Jurowski, Nelsons, Nézet-Séguin and Rattle. She was appointed a DBE in the 2017 Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

Notable engagements elsewhere: Fricka Ring (ROH, Bayreuth); Brangäne (ROH, Glyndebourne, Baden-Baden); Purcell’s Dido (La Scala); Komponist, Clairon Capriccio (Met); Sesto, Ariodante (Vienna State Opera, Dutch National Opera, Aix-en-Provence); Giulio Cesare (Glyndebourne); Phèdre Hippolyte et Aricie (Glyndebourne, Paris Opéra), Gluck’s Orfeo (Munich); Agrippina (Liceu, Barcelona); Maria Stuarda (Opera North).
Concert appearances include the Aldeburgh, Edinburgh, Lucerne, Salzburg, Tanglewood and Three Choirs Festivals, and the BBC Proms where, in 2009, she was a memorable guest soloist at the Last Night.
Forthcoming: role debut as Jocaste in Stravinsky’s Oedipus Rex (Dutch National Opera).
