Director
Sarah Tipple revival director is a freelance director, and has worked in theatre, opera and musical theatre.
Notable engagements: The Magician’s Elephant, a musical based on Di Camillo’s book (RSC); Greg Doran’s associate director on The Boy in the Dress, a musical based on David Walliams’s best-selling childrens’ novel of the same name; directing the West End and UK tour and South African productions of Dirty Dancing; revival director for Mike Leigh’s ENO production of The Pirates of Penzance (Saarbrücken, Luxembourg, Caen, ENO), and she has revived Anthony Minghella’s Madam Butterfly (Perth International Arts Festival, Australia, ENO).
As one of the founders of Barbershopera productions, she has directed all their shows to date, which include Barbershopera: Toni & The Guys (Plymouth Drum, UK tour, BBC Radio 4), Barbershopera: The Barber of Shavingham (Trafalgar Studios, Plymouth Drum, BBC Radio 4), Barbershopera: Apocalypse No! (Trafalgar Studios, UK tour) and Barbershopera: The Three Musketeers (Pleasance 2, Plymouth Drum).
