Soprano

Sinéad Campbell-Wallace is a graduate of the Dublin Conservatory of Music and Drama, the National Opera Studio and the Britten–Pears Young Artists Programme.

Having started her career as a light-lyric soprano, through recent seasons she has moved into fuller dramatic repertoire, with roles including Leonore Fidelio, Ariadne Ariadne auf Naxos, Agathe Der Freischütz and Kaiserin Die Frau ohne Schatten.

In the Italian repertoire, she recently sang Tosca (Theater Regensburg) for the first time. This summer, she made her Salzburg Festival debut as Vierte Magd Elektra, conducted by Franz Welser-Möst, a role she will reprise next season in Madrid and London with the Philharmonia Orchestra and Esa-Pekka Salonen.

Career Highlights

Forthcoming: Helmwige/covering Brünnhilde Die Walküre and Siegfried for the LPO’s Ring cycle conducted by Vladimir Jurowski; Helmwige The Valkyrie; and role debuts as Tatiana Eugene Onegin, title role Suor Angelica, Giorgetta Il tabarro and Cio-Cio San Madama Butterfly.
