As opening night approaches, we go behind the scenes and into rehearsals for the world premiere of Jack the Ripper: The Women of Whitechapel.
From Lilian Baylis House and Henry Wood Hall to the London Coliseum itself, our production team, cast, Chorus and Orchestra are working hard to bring this new production to the stage. We hear from librettist Emma Jenkins and composer Iain Bell about the women living in 1888 Whitechapel and how the opera’s score helps to tell their story, while Martyn Brabbins and Daniel Kramer tell us what it is like to conduct and direct a world premiere production.
