I didn’t see an opera until I was at university, and perhaps Janáček’s Jenůfa wasn’t the easiest introduction to the genre! Since moving to London, I’ve been to however many operas I could get cheap tickets to, and it’s slowly seeping into my listening. On the whole, I like music that puts me in a good mood – if it’s catchy and upbeat, I’ll probably like it – so maybe don’t expect any Jenůfa in my playlist…’
