Finish This… in Secondary Schools Pilot Programme

The Finish This… project was piloted in 7 secondary schools across London, Luton and Leeds in 2021-22 with 153 KS3 and KS4 pupils taking part.

Teachers attended a CPD which introduced them to the composition project and demonstrated composition exercises in the classroom. They were also given lesson plans, instructional videos and interactive activities to help them complete the task.

Pupils were tasked with exploring the newly commissioned composition Under the Same Sky by Jessie Maryon Davies, introducing the musical elements used in the piece and inviting pupils to compose a group composition in response, through a series of exercises and discussions

A HUGE congratulations to the young people who participated in the Secondary pilot version of Finish This… from the following ENO Partner Schools,

Riverside School
Queen Elizabeth School
ACE Luton
Challney High School for Boys
Oasis Academy Silvertown
Archbishop Beck Catholic College

Their pieces were recorded by a professional sound engineer from the English National Opera.

See below for the recordings of the amazing class compositions they have created:
