Arthur Davies (1941 - 2018)

We are extremely sad to hear about the death of tenor Arthur Davies, who is especially well remembered for playing the Duke in Jonathan Miller’s classic production of Rigoletto. A role he subsequently played in five revivals and on the Company tour of the US.
He made his debut with the company in 1981 singing the role of Pedrillo in The Abduction of the Seraglio. Between then and 1995 he performed many roles at English National Opera including Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Gabrielle Adorno in Simon Boccanegra, Lensky in Eugene Onegin and the title roles of Faust and Werther.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
