English National Opera is no longer able to perform The Day After at Alexandra Palace Theatre or Blond Eckbert at our Lilian Baylis House studio due to the temporary closure of the venues.
We have now cancelled our performances at other venues up to 23 May 2020.
We are working hard to create a new season of work at the London Coliseum and other venues across London and the UK, with an announcement to be made in the upcoming weeks.
Hairspray at the London Coliseum has been rescheduled to open on 1 September. Read more.
What happens now?
ENO is a registered charity that is committed to bringing opera to as many people as possible.
We strive to be about more than ‘just’ opera – we are about bringing people together, about training the next generation of singers, performers and directors and about curating one of the world’s most beautiful theatres.
We have committed to supporting our freelance singers, technical staff and musicians despite the cancellation in performances, to ensure they would have one less thing to concern themselves with in these next few weeks.
We just think it’s the right thing to have done.
If you booked directly with ENO and the London Coliseum and would like to take a credit note to the value of your tickets to use for our next season of performances please let us know by emailing email@example.com. Alternatively, we can refund your booking; but if you would consider making a donation of part or even all of your refund we’d be very grateful for your support. To donate or arrange a refund please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you booked via a ticket agent, they will contact you directly about your booking.
I booked for Hairspray:
If you already have tickets for Hairspray and you booked directly with the London Coliseum by phone, online or in person please be assured that you will receive an email about a priority period for you to exchange for the new performances, before public booking opens on 5 May.
If you booked through a ticket agent, they will be in touch with you directly and will also offer you priority booking until 5 May to move your tickets.
If it is possible, it would help us enormously if you could consider making a donation to ensure we come out of this period being able to continue to do what we have been doing for decades.
All donation amounts are Gift Aid eligible, and if you are a UK Taxpayer, we can increase the value by 25% through HMRC.
Once again please accept our apologies for having to cancel performances, and we look forward to being able to welcome you back to the London Coliseum as soon as possible.
