ENO nominated at Olivier Awards

The 2016 Olivier Award nominees were announced this morning at the Rosewood Hotel in London by Michael Ball and Imelda Staunton.

English National Opera dominated the Outstanding Achievement in Opera category with the following nominations:

  • Felicity Palmer for her role as the Countess in The Queen of Spades
  • Tamara Wilson for her performance as Leonora in The Force of Destiny
  • the ENO Orchestra and Chorus nominated for their work on the productions of The Force of Destiny, Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk and The Queen of Spades

Calixto Bieito’s production of The Force of Destiny was nominated in the Best New Opera Production category.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Royal Opera House on 3 April with highlights broadcast on ITV.
