Improvements at the London Coliseum

13th October 2016 in News

If you’re visiting the London Coliseum this season you may notice a few changes to our front of house spaces.

We have moved the box office to a more central and accessible location and we’ve also opened up and improved both the Stalls and Laidlaw bars. These now have more till points and are easier to access. The lounge area in the stalls has far more places for you to sit and relax during the interval or before the performance begins.

If you arrive a little early before a performance, you may wish to take a look at our new display area. Based in the former box office space in the foyer of the London Coliseum, the display area celebrates what it is about our work both onstage and behind the scenes that makes us distinctively ENO.

This area features a film alongside a selection of display items. Ranging from Frank Matcham’s drawings of the building to a headdress from Phelim McDermott’s 2016 production of Akhnaten, these objects offer audiences the chance to find out more about the many different elements that contribute to ENO’s world-class productions.

This display area has been created through collaboration with ENO’s staff and supporters. It would not have been possible without a huge amount of hard work from our Props Workshop and tremendous support across the rest of the Company.

We hope you will notice further changes throughout the building as we continue to develop other areas of the London Coliseum, finding new ways to share the story of ENO with our audiences.
