Costumes and Wigs Department Workshops

Learn a unique crafting technique from ENO's senior craftspeople as part of London Craft Week

As part of London Craft Week, our Costumes and Wigs departments at English National Opera is hosting four exclusive workshops across London.

  • Flower Brooch Making
  • Silk Painting
  • Wig Making
  • Zipped Washbag Making

These sessions open up the studios of our senior craftspeople for visitors to learn a unique crafting technique and find out more about the backstage world of opera.

Our team are:

  • Megan Bearup is the ENO Head Milliner, leading on the production of all hats, headwear, jewellery and occasionally costume/prop crossover pieces.
  • Henrietta Thomas is the ENO Head Dyer, creating the textile artistry to break down, distress, paint, dye, and flat colour costumes and fabrics across all of the productions.
  • Mady Berry is the ENO Head Cutter, working to produce modern and period costumes on all shows and has also been involved as Associate Costume Designer.
  • Kate Lindsey is the Senior Wigs, Hair and Make Up Technician, creating wigs, hairstyling, make up looks on shows and also Supervising Revival productions.

A tour of either the London Coliseum if booking the wigs-based workshop or a tour of all the workroom if booking the costumes-based workshop is included.
