ENO Grange Park Supporters Trip
26 Jun 2025, mid-afternoon until late
Join us on this year’s ENO supporters’ summer festival trip. To celebrate the new partnership between the ENO Orchestra and Grange Park Opera, we are going to see David Pountney’s new production of Tchaikovsky Mazeppa with ENO Executive Producer Bob Holland. Grange Park Opera is set in the beautiful West Horsley Place, a historic 15th-century estate in Surrey which has hosted Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. The opera house is known as the ‘Theatre in the Woods’, and is an acoustically excellent, horseshoe-shaped auditorium inspired by La Scala in Milan. It offers an intimate experience where the audience feels close to the action.
Martyn Brabbins conducts the ENO Orchestra, and the cast is filled with ENO favourites including Rachel Nicholls, John Findon, and David Stout. We have worked with our friends at Grange Park, who have pulled out all the stops for a truly VIP experience, with all sorts of perks not accessible to general bookers.
Our VIP bespoke ENO outing includes:
Guided garden tour
We will be given a guided tour of West Horsley Place’s stunning 18th century gardens. An ancient orchard, 300-year-old mulberry tree, rose garden, walled garden, herbaceous borders, sculptures and decorative features blend classical English garden design with a contemporary touch.
Champagne at the Indian Pavilion
Before the performance, we are invited to meet members of Grange Park Opera’s company and VIP guests, for a champagne reception at the Indian Pavilion.
Performance start
The very best stalls seats to Tchaikovsky’s Mazeppa in the five-tier opera house modelled on La Scala, also known as the Theatre in the Woods, designed by architect Tony Fretton.
Dinner
In the interval of Mazeppa, we will enjoy a first-rate dinner with accompanying wine in the 15th-century manor house. The house has evolved through various architectural styles over the centuries, blending medieval, Tudor, and later Georgian influences. It is a stunning example of English heritage architecture, with beautiful wood-panelled rooms, grand staircases, and an intriguing mix of original and restored features. Its design showcases the craftsmanship of different periods, making it a fascinating site for architecture enthusiasts. In the 20th century, West Horsley Place became the home of the Duchess of Roxburghe, an art collector and philanthropist. Her legacy is reflected in the collection of fine art, furniture, and antiques housed in the manor.
Meet the cast
Following the performance, we are invited to a explore the set, joining the cast, orchestra and creatives for a party on the stage itself.
